Unscreen is a smart, motion-responsive light display that brings a sense of calm and self-awareness into everyday spaces. Inspired by ambient art and the rising demand for dynamic home decor, Unscreen reacts to your movements with gentle, evolving light patterns — creating a visual companion that’s both aesthetic and personal. It’s designed for older teens, college students, and first-apartment shoppers who want to express themselves and shape their space in meaningful, screen-free ways. With optional features like a screentime reward system and future personalization through app-based inputs and quizzes, Unscreen bridges the gap between tech and emotional wellness. We’re currently building our next prototype using mirror glass for a beautiful off-state aesthetic, and early tests show strong traction with Gen Z audiences (4-5% CTR on demand testing ads vs Meta's average CTR of 0.9%). I've also spoken with Free People’s wellness buyer team and are in conversation with the Urban Outfitters home decor team — both showing strong interest in wholesale purchasing.

About the Role

I'm looking for a cofounder with C++/embedded experience (Arduino, ESP32, etc) who’s excited by creative tech, ambient computing, or interactive design. Bonus if you’re into the intersection of art and hardware.

I want to get to the second working prototype and launch the Kickstarter by the end of May early June.
