Introduction
Hi, we're Thinkstruct! We're here to streamline the literature review process for graduate students and academic researchers, so they can less time sifting through mountains of papers and more time redefining the frontiers of science.
Problem
Literature review is a time-consuming and daunting task. Over the course of 4-6 years, Ph.D. candidates are tasked with the challenge of becoming experts in their respective field by combing through a vast sea of academic papers. On average, this process takes up to a year, with candidates sifting through hundreds of scholarly articles. The challenge is worsened by the cryptic nature of academic writing, often obscuring key insights or relevant information. A researcher shared his experience of investing three months in mastering a biological technique, only to fail the procedure due to critical nuances buried within a paper. Ph.D. students struggle to discern relevance in academic passages due to information overflow, leading to wasted time sifting through unrelated works and diverting focus from core research objectives. While this is an issue most prevalent for students, literature review is a process that every researcher must go through during and after every project cycle.
Opportunity
Our platform streamlines literature review for researchers by leveraging AI and open source mechanisms to simplify comprehension, exploration, and utilization of scholarly works, focusing on providing credible insights where information is scarce. Unlike traditional Large Language Models, which often fail to provide reliable information, our product exclusively utilizes peer-reviewed papers selected by users, enhancing accuracy and promoting ethical authorship through transparent referencing.
