Expertise in operational efficiency, product development and business strategy in the manufacturing, government, and technology sectors. Stella Karavas currently serves as a fractional and interim CFO for Charles River CFO with focus on For-Profit and Non-Profit companies in the manufacturing, tech, defense, agro, aerospace and telecom space with expertise in 2 CFR Part 200 and grant management. A CPA, serial entrepreneur and expert in IoT/environmental sensing, Stella, has 10+ years public accounting and tax experience and 20+ years executive and manufacturing experience in the private sector up to $90M companies. Industries include defense, radar, broadcast, industrial microwave, aerospace, energy harvesting, environmental and various other tech industries. She is a serial entrepreneur having started and sold companies along with consulting roles such as interim CEO/CFO/COO roles. She has an active CPA license for 30 years and active in both non-profit and for-profit sectors with regards to fundraising, internal control implementation, ISO 9001:2000, AS9100 and quality system implementation, grant writing and filings, audit management, and tax reporting as well as financial reporting and supply chain management. She is bilingual with proficiency in both English and Greek. Stella’s first job was in the public accounting tax sector with expertise in international, corporate and individual taxes and niche experience with high-net-worth family foundations. She then started and organically grew a custom component magnetics manufacturing company that was one in five internationally chosen companies to bid on the Boeing Dreamliner Power Conversion System as well as prime vendor to countries such as India, Italy, UK, Switzerland and other western European countries. The company was sold after nine years where she went on to start various other companies as well as a consulting practice. Her involvement in those companies included financial reporting, budgeting, managing 50+ patent portfolios, patent and trademark filings as well as mergers and acquisitions. Stella Karavas has also served as Treasurer and Director of Finance for the election of Mayor Yvonne Spicer of Framingham with OCPF MA Campaign & Political Treasurers Training. She serves as a board member for the Blue Hills Observatory, a mock board member for the MIT Martin Trust Center for Entrepreneurship’s Delta-V accelerator and is an expert in IoT for the European Parliament and Commission. She is an expert in Microsoft Office products, Sage, Intuit, QuickBooks, Access DB, ProFx, NetSuite, Salesforce, Accumatica, and Great Plains. Other hard skills include data analytics, fundraising, strategy, product development and commercialization, grant writing, tax and public speaking having presented to global organizations and governments.
