Introduction
3P-Loop is a reverse third-party logistics company that reduces plastic waste by closing the circular economy gaps between consumers, retailers, and CPG manufacturers. 3P-Loop provides CPG waste drop-offs at retail partners and delivers that waste back to our manufacturer partners to clean and reuse.
Problem
While plastic waste is building up in our oceans and landfills, manufacturers are feeling the pressure to prevent their own plastic waste from reaching the environment.
At the same time, retailers are losing foot traffic at their brick-and-mortar stores due to the rise of e-commerce.
Consumers want to recycle, but even if their municipalities provide effective recycling infrastructure, they are not incentivized to do so effectively; over 90% of plastic waste that has been produced has never been recycled.
Opportunity
3P-Loop’s system will bring in foot traffic to retailers who will incentivize recycling at their in-store 3P-Loop stations through coupons and discounts. A battery-focused version of this system by Call2Recycle currently exists successfully at Staples, who gives a $5 off coupon to customers each time they bring in batteries for recycling.
Manufacturers will be able to claim much higher reuse and recycle rates as they receive their exact packaging back for reuse. Plus, our system will reduce their raw material costs.
Most importantly, this system will help solve the crucial problem of plastic waste accumulating in landfills and the environment by closing the circularity gap between consumers and manufacturers, never giving the opportunity for CPG waste to die in a single-use linear consumption pattern.
