Safer waters with smarter systems

Idea in Government and Military

Introduction

We are building an autonomous maritime rescue drone capable of locating distressed swimmers or man-overboard victims, delivering immediate lifesaving intervention (e.g., flotation support), communicating precise location data to responders, and assisting in retrieval. The system is designed to reduce response time, improve survivability, and enhance the safety and efficiency of maritime rescue operations.

Problem

Current MOB procedures are slow, disruptive, and put additional personnel at risk. Current response operations use outdated technology, require putting additional personnel at risk in the water, and can greatly disrupt ship operations. Response times are slow, increasing the likelihood of failure.

Opportunity

We aim to develop an autonomous platform capable of locating and providing lifesaving interventions to MOB victims that minimize operational risk and disruption.
