Using technology to sense and visualize everyday physiological and psychological signals in order to help individuals better understand and improve their physical and mental states. We are developing a wearable device that processes signals such as:
Breathing patterns
Cortisol (an indicator of stress)
Heart rate and HRV
EEG (brain activity)
Other physiological indicators related to stress, emotion, and mental wellbeing
Many individuals are looking to better understand their health and vital signs, but physiology science is often complicated and difficult to understand for laypeople. Visualization can serve as a bridge that transforms abstract biological data into something perceptible, understandable, and actionable.
We aim to develop a technology that takes biological data from an individual, such as heart rate, breathing rate, cortisol levels, or other physiological manifestations of stress or mental wellbeing, and translates it into a visualizable summary.
We have prototyped a wearable device, a ring, which outwardly displays your mental state and health through changes in colors. Additionally, this device tracks other health metrics that are easily accessible and simple to understand and interpret, through an app on the phone.
