Introduction
Cap_able develops garments that protect biometric data from facial recognition.
The technological innovation behind this project lies in creating a system capable of transposing adversarial images onto a fabric that can be used to deceive people detectors in real-time. By wearing a garment in which an adversarial image is woven, one can protect the biometric data of their face, which either will not be detectable or will be associated with an incorrect category, such as "animal" rather than "person."
Problem
The improper use of facial recognition technology (FRT) and the Lack of legal design solutions to protect one’s biometric data and privacy.
Opportunity
Cap_able offers garments that, thanks to the technologies embedded in the pattern, prevent the collection of the wearer's biometric data without the need to cover the face.
