Our furniture platform provides carbon footprints for every product out there and gives you a space to keep a record of your furniture assets to manage them through time. You can buy from any brand or person on our marketplace, and follow accounts you trust for style or product ideas.
Problem
There is a general of lack information on the environmental impact of furniture products. This is leading to greenwashing, overconsumption, overproduction, and huge amounts of waste in the furniture industry.
This is affecting eco-consumers - who struggle to differentiate low and high-carbon products from each other due to the amount of time, effort, and skill it takes to find out the necessary information. We need to start measuring product carbon footprints and share these across the different stakeholders in a product's lifecycle so we can reduce the overall impact of the furniture industry.
Opportunity
Our platform raises awareness by always showing the carbon footprint of a product next to its price. We will create a database of dynamic life cycle assessments (LCA) of furniture products.
We are building a network and incentivizing consumers to be more sustainable by creating a space where people can promote and organize their lifestyles. Each user has a profile with an inventory of assets that have been previously purchased and can be transferred to other users. Credits can then be gained if those assets are sustainable and fall within a reasonable carbon budget per person.
We also incentivize brands to transition towards more sustainable practices by publishing transparency ratings for each brand/product and providing royalties on resales to partner brands.
