Introduction
CROSS is an early-stage startup founded by senior PhD candidates from MIT and Georgia Tech, dedicated to integrating privacy preservation into existing AI serving infrastructure. Our mission is to expand AI applications into sensitive domains such as healthcare, government, and finance. We are currently partnering with Google to enable privacy-preserving AI solutions within Google Cloud. As we advance, we are actively seeking seed-round investors and strategic partners to scale our impact.
Problem
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has shown remarkable potential across diverse applications. From large language models excelling in complex reasoning to diffusion models generating creative content, AI is rapidly evolving, often surpassing human capabilities. The future envisions AI as ubiquitous, seamlessly integrated into various industries. However, despite these advancements, the lack of robust privacy-preserving mechanisms has limited AI’s adoption in sensitive sectors such as healthcare, finance, and government—industries with billions in revenue. In these fields, security takes precedence over throughput, as data breaches can result in significant financial loss or even threaten national security. To mitigate vulnerabilities from both software and hardware attacks, strong privacy protections are required throughout the serving lifecycle.
Opportunity
Privacy concern is the barrier for adopting AI into private data analysis and serving. Bringing privacy guarantees often incurs significant performance slowdown, requiring years of effort and millions of dollars to build dedicated hardware to enable real-time privacy-preserving serving. The lack of robust privacy-preserving mechanisms has limited AI’s adoption in sensitive sectors such as healthcare, finance, and government—industries with billions in revenue. At CROSS, we develop infrastructure to enable existing AI serving systems to support private inference as a service (P-IaaS) without system or hardware modifications, enabling immediate deployment without money costs. We are currently partnering with Google to enable privacy-preserving AI solutions within Google Cloud. As we advance, we are actively seeking seed-round investors and strategic partners to scale our impact.
