Health for each and every one of us

Idea in Health Care

Introduction

Over 60% of patients are dissatisfied that they can't ask their physicians enough. To improve patients’ satisfaction, we support patient-physician communication by making the optimal questionnaire based on each individual's health information. The clinic also gets the advantage to attract new patients and increase the loyalty of existing ones.

Problem

In Japan's universal health insurance system, patients don’t have a primary care physician, so physicians need to see patients without knowing them, resulting in significant information asymmetry that diminishes patient satisfactory. For example, they often cannot challenge diagnostic results and go to a second opinion or ask about health concerns during consultations. When patient satisfaction declines, patients look for another clinic, but its effort is great, and they are fed up with searching for a better hospital because they have to explain the same thing at the next clinic.

Opportunity

Provides a tailored medical experience based on personal health information (PHI).

Users can enter their PHI into the app to receive customized advice from their doctor as if they talk with their own doctor in the clinic (ex. You feel sleepy during the day, but you may have sleep apnea). It can also analyze your PHI and symptoms to automatically create questions that are appropriate for you and share those questions with your doctor in advance to facilitate communication during your consultation (e.g., I seem to be sleeping less, is this related to worsening triglyceride levels?). With the user's consent, PHI can be shared with other medical facilities, saving the user from having to go back to another facility for another medical interview.
