Introduction
In intendere, we provide software to educational institutions who seek to help them launch mentor-mentee programs. Our software, is a web-based platform which helps the institution handle all the hurdles of maintaining a mentoring program in an automatized and seamless way. Our platform will automatically
(1) Train the mentos with materials designed either by us or by the institution
(2) Match mentors with mentees and assign them their weekly tasks
(3) Keep track of who has met, which mentors and mentees are assisting.
(4) Re-match mentors to mentees when needed
(5) Communicate via sms/telegram/whatsapp with participants with important notifications.
In other words, the educational institution that uses our software will just need to set the parameters of training and tasks, share a list of mentors and mentees, and the program can be ran by us while supervised by them.
Problem
Organizers of mentoring programs often find themselves overwhelmed by hard to foresee logistical challenges, examples include: scheduling conflicts, mentors or mentees that drop out or fail to attend sessions. The complicated logistics leads organizers to either be forced to cancel their programs or to endure a substantial increase in the costs. The logistical challenges are usually faced by hiring additional personnel which introduces coordination frictions between staff, and introduces the need to hire additional managerial staff and an onboarding or human resources team. The increase in personnel, staff and admin staff implies that the costs of implementation increase more than linearly with respect to the number of beneficiaries or the size of the program. This increase in costs eventually caps the scale that these programs can reach. The coordination costs imply also that participants have to deal with different staff which can make a poor experience in the program.
Opportunity
Intendere offers a comprehensive SaS solution, automating the logistical complexities of mentoring programs. By leveraging our platform, organizers can efficiently scale their programs while focusing on essential tasks like content development and outreach, ensuring a seamless experience for all stakeholders. Our software allows to automatically manage the sign up, training, interviews, of mentors as well as mentees. The software also automatically matches mentors to mentees, resolves scheduling conflicts, and monitors attendance both of mentees and mentors to sessions. The platform also offers a dashboard such that the organizer can track the progress of participants. The information facilitates decision making and AB testing for each specific program. Intendere has been developed and prototyped within JANN a tutoring NGO in Mexico founded by us. The platform allows us to manage more than 500 tutors per staff substantially decreasing the NGOs costs of implementation.
