Language World
Everyone deserves to learn a language and love doing it
Introduction
Language World is an open-world language learning video game designed to create an immersive and interactive environment for all people to learn a language. The game will be catered to language learners of all levels who either hope to learn a language from scratch, or to sharpen their knowledge of a language they already know.
Problem
Languague learning is difficult. Many start, but not many finish. In our initial study, we found that almost everyone wanted to learn a new languague, but only a third are consistent enough to succeed. Many noted how most language learning platforms are not engaging; have hefty cost attached to them; and just did not feel natural.
Opportunity
Language World sets to create an environment that is immersive in nature and allows for a user to learn a language they desire from any skill level at their own pace. An open world language learning video game is designed to simulate the rigor of a classroom style curriculum, while also challenging users in an engaging and thoughtful manner by requiring them to complete tasks and missions. In this method we employ all the learning mediums (reading, writing, auditory, oral, visual)
