Introduction

We are designing curly hair products specifically for the South Asian market - an under-served but large niche that we have authentic cultural connections with and deeply resonate with the customer base.


Problem

Managing curly hair is harder than it seems: 

  • Time intensive: Curly hair routines have a lot of steps, but if you don’t do it you run the risk of being considered “messy” or looking “unprofessional” at work.
  • Ingredients: Formulations can have toxic ingredients that irritate the scalp, cause hair breakage, and more.
  • Finding the right fit: Products need to work for YOUR hair. But most are made for wavy hair or kinky/coily hair—not for the in-between curl patterns that are common in South Asian hair.

We want to fix these problems while also championing South Asian cultural heritage.


Opportunity

Flagship product: Curl defining cream featuring frizz-taming formulation, long-lasting hold, and traditional non-toxic Ayurvedic ingredients. Eventually, we will expand to include curl friendly shampoos, conditioners, styling gels, and more.

Our Raison d’Etre: We hope to make women worldwide feel more comfortable caring for their natural hair. Curly hair can often be seen as unprofessional, but we want to help change that narrative by healing women’s relationships with their hair and helping them get in touch with their cultural roots.
