Introduction
My Superhero Friend is an app where children can learn how to speak English and improve their pronunciation by talking to their favorite movie characters. We will download movie text into a generative AI platform which would allow children to talk to their favorite characters. We aim to target non-native English speakers. As a team, we both learned English as a second language in school as children before moving to an English speaking country. We both have experienced first hard how difficult and embarrassing it feels to start speaking a new language. We want to help children become more comfortable with speaking English by creating a more emersive learning experience.
Problem
We want to help non-native English speakers improve their overall ability to speak through encouraging them to use English in daily conversations starting from a young age. We are solving this problem for children between the ages of 3-10.
Opportunity
We aim to create an app where children can interact and have conversations with their favorite characters. For example, you can be best friends with spider man! We want to use generative AI to create an English learning platform to make English learning more fun, engaging, and efficient.
