Using non-line-of-sight perception to enhance situational awareness. By leveraging active sensing using light (LiDAR), we can reconstruct 3D scenes that are outside of the camera’s field of view.
Problem
High-stakes military situations require knowledge of who is in the room to deter loss of civilian and military lives. This revolutionary technology allows for better analysis of the situation.
Opportunity
Use of LiDAR capable of imaging outside of line of sight (around corners/through some materials) by law enforcement and military personnel to increase safety and minimize loss of life in dangerous building clearing situations.
