As the world grows in complexity, so too does the tax code. In 1974, it was just 400 pages in length – today, it’s over 75,000 pages. Trends like globalization, remote work, crypto, and gig-work, have created the need for ever-expansive tax rules, but the software and resources available to tax filers have not kept pace. Enter Orqastra. Our platform democratizes access to the rules and logic of the tax code – allowing the everyday filer to finally use the tax code to their advantage.
Problem
Each year, tax filers forgo 7-10 tax credits and deductions that they qualify for. Most cannot afford or access a CPA who has the capacity or knowledge to fully optimize their filing. Furthermore, existing tax preparation software is one-size fits all and antiquated – creating poor user experiences and limited ability to capture nuances of different financial profiles. While those with significant wealth are able to navigate this challenge efficiently, the majority of filers are either not aware of the benefits they’re entitled to, or unequipped to apply for them. As a result, those who most depend on their tax refund face growing tax bills and shrinking tax refunds.

Orqastra makes every tax filer, a better tax filer. We have digitized the US tax code and can apply its rules and logic to users’ everyday financial transactions. Our platform provides year-round, tax optimizing recommendations by notifying users of every tax credit that they qualify for.
