PickUp is a technology-driven transportation platform revolutionizing public transit in Rwanda by providing real-time tracking, digital ticketing, and cashless payments. Designed for commuters, transportation agencies, and government planners, PickUp improves efficiency, reduces wait times, and enhances urban mobility through data-driven insights and smart fleet management.
Problem
Public transportation in Rwanda is highly inefficient, with commuters wasting an average of 43 minutes daily due to unpredictable bus schedules and long wait times. Many are forced to take motorbike taxis, which are three times more expensive, further burdening students and low-income workers. Additionally, transportation agencies lack real-time tracking tools, making fleet management difficult, and the government lacks access to critical transit data for city planning and vehicle distribution.

PickUp digitizes Rwanda’s transportation system by offering:
