ReWork

"Unlock the Untapped Potential of Women"

Idea in Platforms

Introduction

Our vision is to create a platform that empowers mothers on career breaks to retain and enhance their skills while simultaneously offering companies a convenient means to hire skilled professionals swiftly and efficiently. By bridging the gap between these two groups, we believe we can make a tangible impact on the lives of mothers aiming to reintegrate into the workforce and assist businesses in acquiring exceptional talent.

Problem

In Japan, 47% of women leave the workforce after giving birth, often facing challenges in returning to full-time positions due to societal biases against stay-at-home mothers. This issue extends beyond Japan and is prevalent not only in Asia but also globally. ReWork aims to bridge this gap by matching these women with companies with short-term hiring needs, allowing them to retain and enhance their skills for future reentry into the workforce.

Opportunity

Rework is a cross-border vetted talent marketplace aimed at creating flexible working opportunities for mothers who are forced to leave the workforce due to long-standing societal and cultural norms after giving birth. For these skilled and highly productive women, we will provide high-quality, flexible working opportunities that will enable them to retain and grow their skill sets, enabling them to continue to advance their careers and potentially return to full-time positions. We provide companies with flexible talent with localized knowledge at a lower cost than hiring full-time employees. Our target companies are hedge funds, small-to-mid-size consulting and corporates, start-ups, and VCs that do not have a local subsidy but are considering expanding their business into East Asia and seeking localized knowledge. The services include stock research, market research, user interviews, customer support, and market strategy.
