Idea in Sustainability

Introduction

Tunza is an online platform connecting upcycling artists and consumers. Majoring mostly on cloth upcycling, we are looking to provide a community where artists can showcase their work and consumers can get their old clothes upcycled and reimagined ,by artist that fit their desired designs and budget.

Problem

Our venture proposal focuses on upcycling second-hand clothes and furniture, addressing a pressing need for sustainable consumption and waste reduction. The fashion industry especially is one of the most polluting industries in the world, and there is a growing need for sustainable alternatives. Upcycling is a process of converting second-hand materials into new, unique, and valuable items. It has a number of benefits, including reducing greenhouse gas emissions, conserving natural resources, creating jobs, and supporting the circular economy.

There are a number of specific problems and opportunities that an upcycling business could address. For example, many consumers are looking for unique and sustainable fashion and furniture items, but the supply of these products is often limited. Additionally, many consumers are struggling to afford new fashion and furniture, and upcycling can offer more affordable and sustainable alternatives. Finally, many consumers are not aware of the benefits of upcycling or where to find upcycled products. An upcycling business can help to educate consumers about upcycling and make it easier for them to find upcycled products.

Opportunity

We are proposing a centralized platform (website and/or app) that acts as a centralized marketplace for both artisans and consumers. Artists on the platform can both showcase their skills and portfolio and provide unique services to consumers. These artists have the autonomy to set their rates, allowing consumers to select the one that best matches their vision and budget.

This platform effectively addresses the growing demand for sustainable and eco-friendly solutions to landfill waste while simultaneously empowering talented artists in the field of upcycling.
