About the Role

As Co-Founder and Head of Hardware Architecture, you will lead the development of our neuromorphic computing platform from FPGA prototype through to custom silicon. This is a founding team position with significant equity and the opportunity to shape the future of energy-optimized computing. Core Responsibilities: Technical Leadership: - Architect and implement neuromorphic computing systems on FPGAs - Lead the transition from FPGA prototype to custom neuromorphic ASIC - Design novel circuits for energy-efficient neural computation - Develop hardware validation and testing methodologies Strategic Direction: - Help shape the company's technical strategy and roadmap - Make key architectural decisions that will define our platform - Evaluate and select key technology partners and vendors - Guide IP strategy and patent development Team Building: - Build and lead the hardware engineering team - Establish hardware development processes and best practices - Collaborate closely with algorithm and business teams - Interface with customers on technical requirements Preferred Experience - Pursuing or have received MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field - 5+ years of hands-on FPGA design and implementation - Strong background in digital design and computer architecture - Experience with hardware description languages (VHDL/Verilog) - Understanding of neural networks and neuromorphic principles Highly Desired - Prior neuromorphic computing experience - ASIC design experience - Background in energy systems or data centers - Startup experience - Published research in relevant fields - Track record of successful hardware products Must Have Qualities - Exceptional problem-solving abilities - Strong communication skills - Comfort with ambiguity and rapid iteration - Ability to balance research with practical implementation - Passion for energy optimization and sustainability - Entrepreneurial mindset
