About the Company/Team

Joyn Bio is a 4 year old joint venture between Bayer Crop Sciences and Ginkgo Bioworks. They are leveraging the power of synthetic biology in partnership with Ginkgo and the agriculture knowhow of Bayer to develop sustainable solutions for agriculture. The flagship product aims to engineer a microbe to reduce nitrogen fertilizer application by 35%. Currently engaged in a Series B raise, it’s an exciting time to join this growing start up.

About the Role

The R&D project manager will be responsible for translating strategic direction from the program director into tactical activities with the subject matter experts. They will track progress and escalate blockers for efficient problem solving. This is a highly visible position with opportunity to contribute directly to the successful launch of Joyn's flagship product. In addition, as the first hire of this department, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of the function itself, as well as take on new, exciting projects at the crossroads of sustainability in agriculture and microbial engineering.
