About the Company/Team

Cupro is developing the next-generation of recycling by converting end-of-life consumer and industrial products into raw materials like copper, aluminum, etc. Our technology-driven approach recovers valuable resources that would otherwise collect dust in scrap yards, accelerating the shift towards a truly circular economy. Started out of MIT and Harvard, the team integrates computer vision, mechanical engineering, and materials science to revolutionize the recycling industry.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated individual to take a major role in developing Cupro’s foundational technology. You will also be responsible for designing plans for a first prototype of a novel system while overseeing the operation of existing equipment at our facility in South Boston for the summer. This is a great opportunity to make a large impact in a short amount of time while being a part of a very early stage venture. We are looking for someone with mechanical design engineering experience, and is generally handy. The ideal candidate is someone willing to wear a lot of hats while also being able to work in a small team to achieve goals efficiently. And, most importantly, being passionate and willing to learn.

Responsibilities include: Maintenance of existing equipment Build necessary equipment or structures Design and build prototypes (CAD and physical) Technology and system process research/literature review
