Our businesses are demonstrating advances in areas such as oncology, immunology, infectious diseases, and neurology, in addition to a plethora of technologies across the care continuum. Northpond Labs is the research and development-focused affiliate of Northpond Ventures that identifies, supports and funds early-stage science at leading academic institutions such as the Wyss Institute and MIT. We partner leading scientists with key advisors and talented entrepreneurs to enable discoveries that advance science for the benefit of humanity.

About the Role

We seek talented, highly driven individuals to join our Fellow Program to participate across our Northpond Labs initiative and traditional venture capital investment strategy. This full-time, 8-week fellowship offers personal and professional development at the unique intersection of entrepreneurship, venture capital, and life sciences. Fellows work closely with Northpond investors to: • Leverage technical expertise to conduct due diligence on promising science and technologies in the biotechnology, life science tools, diagnostics, and biomanufacturing sectors • Develop an investment thesis to unlock new areas for company creation and investment • Work with principal investors to evaluate merits of scientific platform and extensibility for translation • Engage with industry leaders and peers across the Northpond portfolio and investment team • Review scientific journals and news to keep up to date on recent advances that would merit proactive reach out from Northpond

Qualifications • Post-doc, PhD, or MD-PhD candidates strongly preferred • Focus on one of the following areas strongly preferred: Gene Editing and Cell Engineering, Immunology, Oncology, Neuroscience • Demonstrated interest in and familiarity with start-ups, venture capital, and life sciences • Commitment to Northpond’s mission of building a better tomorrow • Clear communication skills, structured thinking, creativity, and independence Logistics • Fellowship dates: June 17th through August 9th • Must be located in the Cambridge or San Francisco Bay areas • This fellowship is paid, full-time opportunity (40 hours per week, 2-3 days/week in person) • Fellows will receive a competitive stipend Applications are due April 26th.
